Psoriatic arthritis causes inflammation in and around the joints.
It usually affects those who have already got psoriasis, a skin condition that causes a red, scaly rash, particularly on the elbows, knees, back, buttocks and scalp.
However, some people develop the arthritic symptoms before the psoriasis, while others will never develop the skin condition.
Psoriasis will have an effect on people of any age, each male and feminine, however psoriatic arthritis tends to have an effect on a lot of adults than children.
